The Race

The race is coming up VERY soon. It is in exactly 20 days (or 2 weeks and 1 day) starting tomorrow (5.23.10) . The preparations are almost done. Over Memorial Day weekend we are going to go sailing for the whole weekend. We will get most of the work and practice done with. We hope to arrive in St. Georges Bermuda on the 16th of June. The race will be really fun and maybe we'll even win a trophy!!

Boat Inspection

Today Grandma, Grandpa, and Dad [Chad] went to the boat for an inspection. It went really well. They also got a few other things done on the boat while they were out there. The race is coming up in about 2 1/2 weeks! We're all getting excited here! ~Hannah

iBoat

On the day of the race they will give us a tracking device to keep on the boat with us so that people will be able to track us! To get to iBoat you need to go to the Bermuda Ocean race website. (http://bermudaoceanrace.com/) Then scroll over the "Race Overview Button". You will see iBoat towards the bottom. Click on it and then it will take you to the iBoat program! Right now it is showing the 2008 boats but on June 11th it will re-set to the 2010 boats. You can choose to follow just our boat (Wing) or all of the boats. Your choice! Hopefully you'll find us at the front!!! ~Hannah

Practice Sail

Two weeks ago we went for a practice sail. They practiced using the new spinnaker. It looks really neat. They also learned what to do if someone goes overboard. In this case Ella was the person who "Fell Over Board". The girls took a swim in the chilly creek by Tate's house.
